Expected to sell out VERY quickly, people started lining up late last afternoon to be the first in the Apple store to pick up an iPad.
Those who are a bit wiser opted to pre-order the product. Those individuals anxiously awaited the mailman this morning to deliver their sleek and shiny new tablet.
Those that didn’t make it into the store before they sold out or didn’t pre order their products will have to wait until at around April 12th. Those that desire an iPad 3g will have to wait until “late April” for the availability of their units. Apple iPad guns for April launch

Apple has confirmed the launch date of the Apple iPad on Friday. Gadget hounds looking to get a hold of the new tablet from Apple will have to wait until the 3 April in the US and late April in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK.

Customers will be able to pre-order the new tablet from Apple on the 12 March via the company’s website.
iPad will be available in Wi-Fi models on 3 April in the US for a suggested retail price of $499 for 16GB, $599 for 32GB, $699 for 64GB. The Wi-Fi + 3G models will be available in late April for a suggested retail price of $629 for 16GB, $729 for 32GB and $829 for 64GB. Read more
Sony making PSP phone, e-reader/PSP hybrid to fight Apple?

A potentially landscape-altering leak today suggests Sony is developing two handhelds that will directly target Apple. The leader would be a smartphone built in tandem with Sony Ericsson that could run PlayStation games, presumably PSP games as hinted by Sony last month; it would compete against the game-friendly iPhone. A second described by the WSJ would be a crossover between the PSP, an e-book reader and a netbook and would be aimed at multi-role devices like the iPad, albeit not necessarily a tablet.
Reflecting the amount of devotion to the project, Sony is reportedly contributing significantly more effort to the PlayStation phone than it does for most Sony Ericsson projects. In either case, the sources reiterate Sony’s recently publicized admission that the PSP Go has struggled and that any future handheld devices would take a more considerate approach to devices with download-only content.
The two would tie into an online media service due to go live this month but themselves wouldn’t be ready until sometime later in 2010. Read more

The Apple iPhone is a very popular smartphone, but many simply still can’t afford the iPhone due to its high price of ownership. However with the arrival of the Apple iPad and the upcoming iPhone 4G launch expected in June, Morgan Stanley analysts believe the price of the next iPhone will be lower.

According to an article over on macnn, Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty suggests the lower iPhone pricing while other analysts suggest that a Verizon branded iPhone is “more likely” as a way of Apple expanding their sales. Read more
